Choosing Gratitude

How would you like a day filled with sunny surprises? You can easily create one if you approach your day from a place of gratitude. Imagine, you wake up and you smile at the morning being grateful for this new day given to you to experience your world. As you climb out of bed you see your reflection in the mirror and say, ‘good morning’ to your own reflection, grateful for the smile you give to yourself. As you head off to begin your day of activity you notice the littlest things for which to be grateful. It could be something as simple as the heat that warms you on a cold winter morning, or the soft gentle breeze that cools you on a hot summer day.

The feeling of gratitude is a CHOICE. We choose to be grateful, and in order to be grateful, we must be aware for what to be grateful. We bring into our attention a feeling of love and appreciation towards a person, situation or experience in our life. In that moment, in that very moment, we open up our heart chakra and allow love to flow to and from us. Our vibrational energetic level rises. Our attention level increases. We elevate a feeling of wellness throughout our bodies. Our minds become clearer and our hearts soften. What is even more wonderful about this feeling of gratitude is the fact that it emanates out in the form of love and appreciation to the world around us just like golden rays. Imagine the golden rays of sunshine on a sunny day radiating out of your heart; what you are feeling has an affect on all those people, situations, and experiences.

Have you ever been the witness to an act of love and gratitude where one person was so grateful that they took time to make sure another knew their feelings? Maybe it was through their words or actions. Please take a moment here and pause to bring into your memory a time in the past when you observed an expression of gratitude.

Having brought this memory into your thoughts, now notice how you felt as you witnessed this expression of gratitude. Even though you were not the giver or the receiver, somehow you were touched, those golden rays of gratitude that exude out from such a loving act came into your world just by observing.

Choosing to be Grateful for what is in our lives allows us to see things from a loving and appreciative place in our hearts.

An example of this would be on a typical day we might walk past our children, loved ones, and pets or even in and out of our own home and not even think one thought of gratitude because we might be so caught up in our daily activities.

Now, imagine now if we took a moment, just one moment to pause and CHOOSE to look at our child, our pets, our home and think about our gratitude for them. The very act of choosing gratitude makes a huge shift in our consciousness and awareness. By shifting to appreciation/love/gratitude we may even be inspired and moved to express our love outwardly. Our life will bring to us wonderful surprises in feelings of delight and love, which will attract more and more for which to be grateful as we move through our beautiful, magically gifted day.
