Go Suck a Lemon!

Why is it that if I ONLY IMAGINE that I am biting into a LEMON my thoughts are capable of causing my body to deliver a rush of water to my mouth to assist in moving this PHANTOM lemon juice through my system?
There is not a real lemon… I’m just sitting here imagining that I am biting into one. The necessary cellular dance that causes saliva to arrive in my mouth is at my beck and call heeding my thought, whether the need is real or imagined. It’s automatic! I think ‘lemon’ and I create extra saliva in my mouth. This tells me something quite amazing and important; it tells me that my mind and my thoughts are extremely powerful. From this simple easy exercise I realize that a mere thought caused a physiological change in my body, INSTANTLY! Wow! That just blows me away!

Understandably, there must be some memory of eating a lemon creating this reaction. This being true, I ask myself, how can I use POSITIVE MEMORY to tap into this powerful tool? If I can make water come into my mouth at the mere thought of a lemon, what else can I do? Would it be a stretch to imagine myself in my body at 25 years old?

For a moment I laugh at the possibilities. Then I think again, what if I went back to a very positive memorable day in my life? What if I imagined a day when I was feeling particularly great about my body? What if I went to that moment in time in my life so vividly and engaged all my senses to reconnect with that day and how I felt on that day? Here is the most important part of my questioning regarding this matter. Would my body start to respond? Would my cells re-locate the memory of that time in my life and react and recreate accordingly? Hmmmm, I wonder…just how powerful is this mind of mine and these thoughts that I have?

I create time now to feel my young body here and now, feeling just as I felt then. What I can tell you is that when I do, it feels WONDERFUL! I figure if I can take time to imagine a lemon and bring water to my mouth, I might as well use my time more wisely and bring to mind my youthful, vibrant, healthy body. This allows my body to begin the cellular dance that recreates the flow of energy that brings vitality, youthfulness, vibrancy to all the cells of my body, just by focusing on and allowing the strong positive memory of my youthful self to take hold NOW!

Our minds are very powerful and we create our lives. We are bundles of compacted intelligent energy with a purpose, experiencing this amazing life of ours as we interact with our world around us. We have this beautiful tool, our mind that we use to navigate and experience our world. Scientist, psychologists, neurologists, etc. admit that it is impossible to know all there is to know about how we think, and how our minds work, yet what we, individually can do is recognize what is clearly apparent to us--Our minds and our bodies are inextricably connected, there is no getting around it. If we think happy thoughts we feel happy and our eyes soften our mouths gently smile, if we see a sad movie we cry, we bring water to our eyes. Commit to using your mind in a way that will create all you desire in your life.

A small side note: Today, lemons are selling at my local supermarket for 6 for $1.99. I love lemons; just knowing they exist makes me feel healthy. They are great for so many reasons: direct use on our skin, for use in so many recipes, and a refreshing addition to a glass of water. Most especially as a reminder that at just the thought of the multi-purposed lemon we bring into our realization just how powerful our minds are. Go suck a lemon in YOUR MIND, you’ll see!
